Privacy Policy
Last updated July 25, 2026
OpenFairway (“OpenFairway,” “we,” “us”) connects golf clubs that host corporate and charity outings with the organizers looking for a venue. This policy explains what information we collect through openfairwaygolf.com (the “Site”), why we collect it, and the choices you have.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us directly:
- Account details — name, email address, password, and (for organizers) an optional company or organization name.
- Club listing details — club name, location, course info, pricing, photos, amenities, and availability, submitted by club accounts.
- Messages you send to other users through the Site.
- Outing requests you post to the board (event type, dates, budget, group size, and details you choose to share).
- Billing information for club memberships — handled entirely by our payment processor, Stripe (see §4). We never see or store your full card number.
Information collected automatically:
- Basic usage analytics (pages viewed, searches run, general actions taken) used to understand how the Site is used and improve it.
- Standard technical data your browser sends to any website (IP address, browser type, device type).
2. How we use it
- To operate the Site — creating accounts, showing club listings in search, delivering messages between organizers and clubs, and processing club membership billing.
- To communicate with you — service updates, billing notices, and (if you opt in) product updates.
- To keep the Site safe — detecting abuse, spam, and fraudulent listings or accounts.
- To improve the Site — understanding aggregate usage patterns and fixing what's broken.
3. What we share — and what we don't
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
We do share limited information with:
- Other users, as intended by the Site's function — a club sees an organizer's name and organization when messaged; an organizer sees a club's public listing details.
- Service providers who help us run the Site — our database and hosting provider (Supabase), our payment processor (Stripe), our hosting platform (Vercel), and, once enabled, our transactional email provider (Resend). Each only receives what they need to perform their function and is contractually restricted from using it for anything else.
- Legal requirements — if required to by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of OpenFairway, our users, or the public.
4. Payments
Club membership fees are processed by Stripe, Inc. When a club subscribes, their payment details go directly to Stripe — we only receive confirmation that payment succeeded, along with limited billing metadata (subscription status, renewal dates). OpenFairway never takes a cut of, or processes payment for, the actual outing booking between a club and an organizer — that happens directly between the two parties, off-platform.
5. Cookies & local storage
We use a small number of essential cookies to keep you logged in and remember your session — nothing used for cross-site tracking or third-party advertising.
6. Data retention
We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account or ask us to, we'll delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable time, except where we're required to retain it (for example, billing records for tax purposes).
7. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls on our database. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information appropriately.
8. Your rights & choices
You can review and update your account information at any time from your dashboard or account page. You can request a copy of your data, or ask us to delete your account and associated data, by contacting us below. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws like the CCPA or GDPR — contact us and we'll help.
9. Children's privacy
OpenFairway is intended for business use by adults arranging corporate and charity golf outings. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Site evolves. If we make material changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you directly.
